The Go-to-Market (GTM) summary is a strategic document detailing the introduction of a product or service, encompassing market analysis, marketing and sales strategies, and launch plans. It provides a concise overview of key elements such as target customer profiles, unique selling propositions, and key performance indicators.

It is crucial to grasp the sales perspective in Go-to-Market (GTM) strategies. Is the product something new or will it replace current one?

 

Sales might lack motivation to sell something if they already have a similar product that they are selling. Or if it doesn't bring enough commission for them. It is essential for them to genuinely share their ideas considering the up-coming services and products. Do their clients have a need for something?


Before testing out new services, salespeople may face challenges because they are already overloaded with tasks, and there is a perceived risk in adopting a new product, which could consume a significant amount of their time. Sometimes the issue is much bigger which recuires structural changes in the whole sales department.
